do you long to play like guthrie govan? bryan beller? scott kinsey? scott henderson? frank zappa? mike keneally? do you listen to music that confounds you? inspires you? infuriates you to throw down your instrument? do you imagine playing for teensy audiences but you don't care because you love making interesting music?
i'm andrew... 55 years old, 45 of which i've spent playing and listening to the likes of peter erskine, chad wackerman, marco minneman, sean rickman and 84 other drummers who have influenced me, none of whom i can replicate. but i've aspired to make a giant drummer-stew out of these legends and have done a C- job doing it. but i do it and love doing it. my long time musical partner (located over 1000 miles away) says i'm the most musical drummer he's played with, and he's played with dudes from weather report, yngwie malmsteen and a bunch of other dudes.
if you want to try playing some of their songs, or even some of your own (i am not a musician and don't write or read - i just play), let's give it a shot. I live in Winchester, have a very reflective basement studio with a 16 input mixer and a golden retriever. you can bring your own beer or have a few of mine, as long as we can break to go out and get more.
here are some samples of my playing:
